Newtown Nation: Building a Thriving Community Together

Welcome to Newtown Nation, an inclusive and diverse group of passionate individuals committed to creating a healthier, happier, and safer community through cooperation and education. At Newtown Nation, we firmly believe in the power of genuine compassion, real love, and unconditional acceptance for all members of our ever-changing world. We are dedicated to upholding Civil Rights and advocating for Freedom, Dignity, and Equal Rights for All People, without exception.

Mission: Our mission is to engage the Newtown Community in the economic development of its residents and businesses, working towards a thriving Newtown.

Vision: We envision a community where everyone is important and no one is left behind. In this Newtown, everyone can access affordable housing and healthy food, promoting a sustainable and vibrant environment.

Core Values: To guide us in our endeavors, we embrace the following core values:

  • Be real: We value authenticity and encourage genuine connections within our community. By fostering open and honest dialogue, we can build trust and understanding.
  • Transparency: We believe in openness and accountability. Through transparent practices, we aim to build strong relationships and promote a culture of trust and cooperation.
  • Serve with integrity: We are committed to serving our community with the utmost integrity and ethical conduct. Our actions and decisions are guided by a sense of responsibility and a deep respect for the well-being of all.
  • Love and compassion: Love and compassion are at the heart of everything we do. We approach our work with empathy, kindness, and a genuine desire to uplift and support each other.

As part of our dedication to the Newtown community, we organize and support various initiatives and events:

  • Community Beautification:
Together with community volunteers and Newtown Nation members, we have launched an initiative called Curb Appeal. This project aims to enhance the aesthetic appeal of our neighborhood, creating a more welcoming and attractive environment for everyone.
  • Newtown Farmers Market:
Join us at our SNAP/EBT-friendly market, located at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park, 2523 Cocoanut Ave., Sarasota, every Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm. We are committed to promoting access to fresh and healthy food options for all members of our community.
  • Community Events:
We cherish our community and take great joy in celebrating its vibrant spirit! Whether it’s the We Are One! Multicultural Festival, which brings together diverse cultures in a harmonious display, the soulful Big Mama’s Collard Greens Fest that tantalizes taste buds, or the inspiring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Day of Service, where we come together to serve our community, each event reflects our deep appreciation for our community’s culture, talent, and friendship.
Moreover, we are thrilled to announce our partnership with the Sarasota Performing Arts Center Foundation and Billionaire Babies, which adds an exciting dimension to our lineup of events for children. Together, we will create unforgettable experiences that captivate young minds and nurture their creativity.

Join us in our journey towards a stronger, more vibrant Newtown. Together, we can make a difference and create a community where everyone thrives.
