NewtownAlive.org, a website about Newtown, its history and its people, created in a project led by Vickie Oldham, the Newtown Conservation History District, and funded by a grant through the Sarasota County Neighborhood’s Department. The effort was part of a plan developed by the City of Sarasota to preserve the history of the African-American community.
