It is with great pride and excitement that Newtown Nation and Newtown Farmers Market present the 10th Annual Big Mama’s Collard Green Fest.

For ten years, this festival has brought people together to celebrate food, family, culture, creativity, and community pride in the heart of Newtown. What began as a friendly collard green cook-off has grown into a beloved community tradition, highlighting local cooks, small businesses, artists, performers, farmers, families, and neighbors.

Newtown Nation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of Newtown residents of all ages, from youth to seniors. Our mission is to support a stronger, healthier, more connected community by creating opportunities for education, economic growth, food access, cultural celebration, and unity.

The Newtown Farmers Market is an extension of that mission. Created to promote healthy eating and increase access to nutritious, affordable fruits and vegetables, the market continues to serve as a weekly resource for residents and families.

Through partnerships such as SNAP/EBT and Florida-grown produce incentives, the market helps make fresh food more accessible while also supporting Florida farmers and strengthening the local economy. When families can purchase more fresh produce for less, everyone wins.
